UK's tallest tower given approval

The tallest residential building in the UK at 220m is set to be built in the London Docklands after the scheme was given the final stamp of approval.

South Quay Plaza will be built on the Isle of Dogs on the site of an existing 1980's block and will stand 68 storeys high.

After the office of Boris Johnson decided not to intervene the local planning authority granted initial permission to developers Berkley Homes.
